Recently, researchers at Princeton University have said that even with GPS, Wifi and GPS services disabled, your smartphone can still track you. This is all because a security breach users external and internal information from your device to find out where it is.

Researchers have used an application known as PinMe to track a device using the sensor information and time zone from a smartphone. When you combine these data with publicly available information like Google Maps, you can estimate the location of the gadget.

The release also said that since the sources that produce this data doesn’t require user permission to operate and only called a limited amount of data. This is what makes this method “Virtually undetectable”

The findings were first published in September 2017 and then later it was re-published in February 2018. The data clearly suggests that despite user’s best effort to hide their location it can be tracked.
