If you use WhatsApp Web often and you miss video calls, you’re in luck: everything points to the company being able to implement both functions very soon. This is suggested by WABetaInfo, the portal specialized in anticipating the news of the instant messaging app, where they explain that the platform is currently working on it, so that voice and video calls could be available soon.
According to rumours, all this begins with the version of WhatsApp for iPad, which although not yet available, WABetaInfo points out that it will soon reach the market. The company of the Mark Zuckerberg wants the application version for the Apple tablet integrates voice calls. As this app is based on WhatsApp Web, it is safer than the function also to the browser version.
In addition to this, the analysis of the WhatsApp update code 0.2.8299 has hidden references that may suggest that there will also be support for video calls on WhatsApp Web. However, these references are very slight and are not too clear, so in this case, we will still have to wait to know if we can enjoy this functionality in WhatsApp for the computer. This also applies to the WhatsApp app for iPad.
Users of WhatsApp Web have long claimed these functions for the version of the application for the browser. And, although the platform has been improving, including in the latest update the private group chats and the Picture mode, the two main characteristics are still missing: voice calls and video calls.
At the moment there is no official confirmation from the company owned by Facebook, so we will have to wait with crossed fingers to make these forecasts come true.
