The red iPhone 8 that addressed the rumours of recent days is now official. The tech giant Apple today introduced the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition, its two new additions to the catalogue of products aimed at the fight against AIDS.
The Cupertino company has been committed to this cause for eleven years in collaboration with the Product Red association. Last year we already saw the red iPhone 7, and there are also other items available in this colour, such as leather and silicone covers, straps for the Apple Watch, headphones and speaker Beats, covers for the iPad or iPod Touch.

By purchasing any of the items in the RED special edition, Apple allocates part of the proceeds to collaborate with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, which launches programs to provide counselling, diagnostic tests and HIV prevention drugs. Till to the date, the company has raised more than 160 million dollars thanks to this initiative that has been allocated to the cause.
The special edition in the red colour of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is a new finish for the terminals so that the changes can be seen on the outside but the specifications remain the same. Specifically, the new finish presents the black front with the rear housing in red.
