Samsung Galaxy S9: Exynos 9810 Faster Than The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845

Little by little, we are getting to know more about the Samsung Galaxy S9 that will be presented on Sunday, February 25 at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona. The new flagship of the Samsung will have a similar design to the S8, and now have revealed new and interesting details of the terminal, as the performance of its processor for the international version, which will have stereo speakers, and many other details.

Dolby stereo speakers

The first of this information shows us that the stereo speakers (something we already knew), besides being calibrated by AKG they will have Dolby support. With regard to sound, we also find that Bixby will be able to simultaneously alter languages in real time.

The Exynos 9810 will perform much better than the Snapdragon 845

Second, we have also known the performance of the Exynos 9810, the processor that will equip the S9 in international versions. This processor, brother of the Snapdragon 845 that will equip the S9 in other countries, will have a better performance than the Qualcomm chip, which we learned yesterday.

According to the first figures that appeared in Geekbench 4.0, the performance of the Exynos 9810 comfortably exceeds the Snapdragon 845. The Exynos 9810 obtains 3,648 points in single-core and 8,894 in multi-core, above the 2,439 and 8,200 obtained by the Qualcomm chip. This performance comes in part thanks to using the Samsung M3, which replicates what Apple does in its ARM chips.

In comparison, the S8 obtained around 6,600 points in multicore, so the performance improvement is quite large to use the same 10-nanometer manufacturing size. In the performance test, it is shown working at 1.79GHz, but that is the minimum frequency since it can operate up to 2.9GHz in the four most powerful cores.

Another detail that was confirmed when Evan Blass leaked the appearance of the S9 is that the fingerprint reader will not be on the screen. The technology is still somewhat green, and Samsung is going to wait a few months before using it. In addition to having placed the fingerprint reader under the camera (where it should have been at first), Samsung is going to wait until Note 9 to introduce the fingerprint reader in their terminals.

Price similar to that of S8

Finally, the estimated price will be between 853 and 923 dollars, somewhat more expensive than the initial 749 dollars that went to market. Finally, a curious novelty that will be included will be the Emojis in 3D, better than the iPhone X.

From the Galaxy S9, we already started to know a lot of things last January after the leak of its box. It will have a 12 MP camera with a variable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4, 8 MP front, IP68 resistance, 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM, and wireless charging. It will also have a 3.5 mm jack and a new Samsung DeX as an accessory that will allow you to use your mobile screen as a trackpad.
