Michael Myng had found a working keylogger hidden in the touchpad driver. However, the touchpad driver in HP Laptops was disabled by default. The company had looked into the problem and already released a security update on more than 460 HP laptop models.

This is not something limited to HP laptops, the researcher believes that other laptop manufacturers might have the same keylogger hidden inside the touchpad driver. According to the reports from BBC, the keylogger is present in Synaptics’ drivers which helps them to fix bugs. However, the same feature shouldn’t be distributed to users in general.
