Here’s Why You Need To Charge A Phone 8 Hours Before Your First Use: You all might have experienced a common thing while buying a new smartphone. Smartphone vendors always advise us to charge the device for at least 24 hours before using it for the first time. Several time vendors say that you should fully charge your smartphone before using it for the first time.
This issue is quite controversial because there is not enough information about it and this is what turns this situation into a question: Myth or Reality? Well, the battery of our smartphone needs to be charged 8, 12 or 24 before using it for the first time. Why?
The battery of our smartphone used to have a kind of memory, the limit of this represents the limit of the battery. The first load is extremely important because it sets the battery limit. Early battery types like nickel cadmium had a ‘memory effect’ in which batteries maintain a certain capacity based on how they had been charged and discharged.
But, with modern lithium-ion batteries, most people believe that there is no such effect and the batteries are even more reliable. With Lithium-ion batteries, you don’t need to calibrate your smartphone by running the battery all the way down.
Mobile sellers still recommend users to recharge their phone for 6-8 hours but that’s no longer needed. They simply want you to start with a full charge to get the best experience.
So, charging a smartphone for 6-8 hours before its first use turns out to be a completely false issue due to the advancement of technology. What’s your opinion on this? Share it with us in the comments.
