Elon Musk Confesses The Biggest Mistake Of His Career: We all know about Elon Musk, the founder of Space X and Tesla. On his childhood, he suffered bullying and spent time reading science fiction and astronomy books. He ended up building a solid career in entrepreneurship. However, during his lifetime, he made many mistakes and successes.
Recently, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX confessed the biggest mistake of his like. Elon Musk actually attended a Question and Answer session at South by Southwest where he confessed the biggest mistake of his career.
Elon Musk said that the biggest mistake of his career was not having spent more time at Tesla at the initial stage of the company. It’s worth to note that Elon Musk was a leading investor in the electric car company, but he didn’t have an executive position at Tesla at the beginning.
Between the year 2004 and 2008, Elon Musk was chairman of the company, to dedicate more time to SpaceX and raising his children. Due to what, Tesla delayed the production and surpassed the expected cost of launching Roadster – the first vehicle.
The company also entered a financial crisis in the year 2008 and it was the last straw for Elon Musk to take control of the company in October of the same year. Elon Musk said “I thought, ‘I can keep running SpaceX. I’ll dedicate 20 percent of my time to Tesla, and that will be fine,”
“But actually … things really melted down.”
Under Elon Musk’s command, the company received a $40 million through round of financing that prevented the company from going bankrupt. However, right now Tesla is considered one of the most innovating car company which brings electric cars with autonomy.
