It seems that the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has decided to join the blockchain technology with the imminent release of its own cryptocurrency: PeiCoin.
The first curiosity about this is in the name, as one of the co-founders of the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is called Carl Pei, this being a case similar to what happens with Linux and its creator, Linus Torvalds.
The same Carl Pei has announced that PeiCoin has been allegedly created exclusively for the OnePlus users and its release already occurred yesterday, April 1.
According to the Chinese manufacturer of smartphones, of course, I am talking about the OnePlus some users will receive access to the PeiCoin Wallet beta, the portfolio that currently would only work on OxygenOS, the Android fork created by the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus after “separating”Cyanogen.
Users can request and send PeiCoins directly to other users of OnePlus devices, in addition to receiving advice by participating in the manufacturer’s forums and mining cryptocurrencies on their own devices or joining a group with other users. In order to offer maximum confidence to users, and possibly to try to scare away ghosts from the past, everything will be supported by an open source framework.
Now we have one question: Is this real or is it a joke? April 1 is April Fool’s Day in many areas of the world, so we cannot confirm 100% if PeiCoin is something serious or not. However, don’t worry about that as the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus laced three years ago to the market a drone that could be bought for real. Hence, you can 100% expect this coin as real.
